Currently works for Penske Racing as a team adviser. Rick no longer races in any form, but is in constant demand for speaking or publicity engagements. However, the last few years have seen Rick struggle with a drink problem, so he has cut back his non-Penske workload to try and help beat his addiction. Rick is one of the very best and most popular open-wheel drivers with four Indianapolis 500 wins and numerous other Indycar victories. However Rick actually started racing on motorcycles in desert and off-road racing, before moving onto dune buggies that he and Roger constructed. He then moved into Indycars in 1976 and stayed there until the end of the 1992 season.
