Brother of Harry, Bill, full name Willard, later worked as a traffic policeman. Bill was originally trained as a carpenter before becoming a mechanic, working for the Cole Motor Company. He later became a driver for them and enjoyed a very successful season in 1910, winning a stockcar race in Atlanta and the Massapequa Sweepstakes the same year, before initially retiring from racing that year to run his farm. However he was persuaded to return and carried on until his younger brother was killed in 1913. He later also ran a car dealership in Indiana, which included Cole cars, as well as Ford automobiles.
