Billy continued to drive on until quite recently - he was a regular competitior in the Goodyear Masters Classic, a sprint car event for drivers over 50. He won in 1996 and 1997 and came 2nd in 2000. Now retired, but still attends sprint car races. Still lives in Wisconsin, where he used to be a divisional manager for a crane company in Janesville. A sprint and midget car veteran of many years, Billy dovetailed that with a number of years in CART but it was his success in midgets that made his name with wins at Ascot Speedway's Turkey Night race amongst many highlights in the discipline.
