Aloi was not hugely successful in Fprmula 3000, but later switched to the sport he loves the most, which was bullfighting! Between 1995 and 2001, he competed as a matador. Now retired from that, and works as a local businessman, still living in Mexico City and is now based in the energy industry but also serves as a local politician. Before his time in F3000, Aloi raced in Italian Formula 3 and sportscars and even had a brief role as a test driver for the Lamborghini Formula 1 team in the early 1990's. Aloi's full name is Juan Alberto Gonzalo Aloi Timeus Salvato. Aloi is now president of the Federación Mexicana de Vela, a sailing organisation in Mexico.
