Moved into the DTM where she became a regular fixture for some years. Also had a spell in the European Truck Championship, and in 2012, returned back to that series, after spells in off-road events and rallies, including the Dakar rally. In 2014, she was only in trucks after a few years of combining different driving aspects and continued this until 2016. For two years she stayed away from driving and works as a TV commentator and motivational speaker and journalist focusing on long-distance rallies. However in 2019, she made a return to racing and the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and in 2020 she took part in Dakar (now in Saudi Arabia) as well as dovetailing this with her journalism. In 2021, she was named as Head of Motorsport at the Austrian automotive service provider AVL who work with most series in motorsport as they develop and test drive systems. Lohr lives in Monaco now but commutes to Austria. Ellen did an interview in 2016 for this site, which can be found on the below link.
