NASCAR legend, a tough outspoken man, with over 50 wins in the series between 1955 and 1965, retiring from driving one year later. Real name Robert, he moved into motor racing to avoid crime (he was involved in moonshining whisky and spent one year in prison), and it worked all round! Later became a NASCAR team owner and also a sponsor which also proved very successful, with over 100 wins for his cars. Junior then for many years ran his beef cattle farm near his home in North Carolina after retiring from the sport in 1995 which produced fried pork skins and country hams. He, in later years, also owned a legal distillery. He died towards the end of 2019 after suffering from Alzheimer's Disease.
