Later became a sprint-car owner. Started off motorcycling and hillclimbing and later became a competent midget driver. His daughter married Pancho Carter. Forberg began on two wheels in 1928 and went on to win in many different States. He took up midget racing in 1935, building his own car but using a motorcycle engine. One year later, he was racing in midget track racing full-time and won the Sioux City track championship. Initially Carl moved to New Jersey to concentrate on his racing before moving to Warren, Michigan, just before World War 2. Injuries took their toll and after a few crashes in the late 1940's, a back injury sustained in 1952 ended his driving career and started his second career as an owner. He remained interested in the sport for the rest of his life and was a great help to Carter with his racing.
