Brother of Tom. Sadly died in 2018. For some years, he helped his son TJ with his snowboard company and made many visits to reunions. TJ has also raced himself, mainly in sprint cars. Jerry won the 1977 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award for finishing an impressive tenth, a result which ended up being his best result at the speedway. Sneva used to be a school bus driver after realising, through his brother Tom's teaching and then racing, that extra money could be earned for driving buses to and from Washington state to Indiana when the manufacturing and distribution company needed to swap or upgrade buses. This suited Jerry's racing as well, and although Jerry did this for years, he never actually drove a school bus locally on an actual school run. Sneva also was a craftsman who crafted and painted Christmas ornaments every year for members of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
