In 2014, when Grand-Am merged with ALMS to become the United Sportscar Championship, Michael moved into that series, where he remained for the 2015 season. In 2016, Michael moved into the Continental Tyre Series. That year saw him suffer a serious crash which left him concussed. As it took some considerable time to recover, he is now retired. He also works for Pfaff McLaren Vancouver as a salesman and test driver.
