Based in Seattle for most of his life, he was an electrician, specialising in automobiles, by trade. There is not much on Harry's racing career; he entered his own built car, the HAF, which was named after his son's initials (Harry Athol Falt; Harry himself was Harry Byron Falt) and it had a Lycoming engine but Harry failed to qualify. Harry, who was a keen salmon fisherman, had a bit of trouble with the law, including a spell in prison in 1930 in San Quentin Prison. He also was charged with burglary in 1925. He suffered tragedy however as his wife died very young and due to his father's prison spell, Harry's son grew up in an orphanage. Falt's family emigrated from Nova Scotia, Canada in the 1880's.
