Has had a long and varied career in motorsports, but now retired. Was with Henri Pescarolo's sports car team as their technical director, and although now retired, he is still a consultant to sportscar teams. Also involved in historic events. de Cortanze was another aeronautical graduate to make it to racing, starting with the Alpine team, which eventually morphed into Renault. Andre was heavily involved with the team's early Formula 1 efforts. Andre then moved to Peugeot to become their technical director before a spell with Sauber, being one of their chief engineers in their first two seasons in the sport. Andre has also designed 750cc motorcycles in the past.
