Ex-Michelin and Renault man, who was Technical Director at Toyota F1. Tried to get Stefan F1 on the grid, but when this failed, moved back to Toyota, and was vice-president and technical director of Toyota's motorsport operations, which included the World Endurance Championship until 2024. He remains with Toyota in other capacities, most specifically, in charge of hydrogen car production for Le Mans. Vasselon is a qualified aeronautical and aerospace engineer who joined Renault as a vehicle model maker and then became a suspension expert before joining Michelin in 1988, where he then spent 16 years in a number of roles, which included their F1 efforts.
