Returned to racing in 2003, in Formula Holden, after 10 years away from the sport. Simon is now better known as a top sound designer, producer and publisher of soundtracks for adverts, film, TV and radio, and Kane, who is still based in Sydney, is one of Australia's most awarded sound designers. He has won Gold World Medals in New York to London Internationals and received the Centenary Medal from the Australian Prime Minister for services to the Australian Film Industry. Kane has also become a specialist for racing and car related sounds, using his racing links for the relevant sounds.
