Born:

26 Oct 1982
Portadown, Northern Ireland

Nationality:

Great Britain

CART/IRL years:

IRL (2010)

Former GP2 and A1 GP driver who raced in the IRL in 2010. In 2011, he appeared in Formula Superleague and GP2 and in 2012, in endurance racing. Has continued in endurance events since then - in 2015, he was in the British GT series and in 2016, the WEC and Blancpain. Carroll's career really took off when competing in the A1 GP series as he won 5 times to lead Ireland to the title. This came after a long slog in karting and lower formulae where Adam impressed but didn't have the finance to break through as well as he would've wanted, despite being 2004 British Formula 3 runner-up. In 2018, Carroll was doing Formula E commentary for Eurosport but returned to a full-time drive in 2019 in the GT Cup. He also appeared in 2019, in the Formula E support series; the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy and in 2021 was named as a Formula E reserve and development driver for the NIO 333 team, whilst he also continued in the GT Cup. In 2022, raced in British GT and in 2023 and 2024, raced in the GT World Challenge America. Adam also runs an Italian restaurant in Portadown.
