Hugely popular and talented driver killed in the season finale at Fontana, just as he was on the brink of a move to Penske and potentially an even more successful career than he had had up to his death. Moore had enjoyed success in Canadian Formula Ford and the USAC FF2000 West series before he became the Indy Lights champion in 1995. His career trajectory continued upwards with five wins in CART before his tragic death.
