After a spell in Australian V8 Supercars, Jason went back in America, racing in ALMS, but then returned back Down Under, and for aeons, was in V8's again, although he also appeared in the WEC in 2013. He effectively retired in 2017 to run his growing trade platform business, but still does occasional endurance events and in 2019 appeared in the new Australian TCR series. Since 2020, he has been doing more driving coaching. Although Jason won both the 1995 Australian Formula Ford title and the 1997 Australian Formula Holden title, it is in touring cars that he achieved his most success, with around 20 wins since 1998, plus a Bathurst 1000 victory back in 1998 with Steven Richards. Bright also spent a few years as a team owner in the V8 Championship before financial pressures forced him to close the team. The business has grown massively, providing customers with a legal, licensed and quality-approved set of tradesman.
