Popular driver who has had a long career at the top. Enjoyed a long career in single-seaters but then in 2000, moved into NASCAR and Trans-Am, the latter of which he won his third title in 2003. In 2007, he stayed with Ganassi, but in the Grand American Rolex Sportscar Series, starting well, with a Daytona win. He continued in sportscars, in the US Sportscar Series until his racing retirement in 2018. He won at Daytona in 2008 and 2013. Pruett also commentates on the sport and away from racing, runs a vineyard and is a children's book author. Before racing, he qualified as a mechanical engineer and then worked as a builder and ran a construction business before taking up karting in 1984.
