Also raced in European F2. Quit racing after a lack of sponsorship, and became a gold and diamond hunter in Africa. However, when based in Liberia, during their civil war, he was kidnapped and held captive for 5 months by a henchman of then President Charles Taylor. Perhaps being a foreign national, Enrique became somewhat of a political pawn but his high profile probably helped to save his life. After being released, he surprisingly stayed in Liberia, again in the gold and diamond industries. After a short spell in the US, Enrique is now back in Argentina, where he is also involved in both media and team management.
