Also raced in CART in America. Quit racing after a lack of sponsorship, and became a gold and diamond hunter in Africa. However, when based in Liberia, during their civil war, he was kidnapped and held captive for 5 months by a henchman of then President Charles Taylor. Perhaps being a foreign national, Enrique became somewhat of a political pawn but his high profile probably helped to save his life. After being released, he surprisingly stayed in Liberia, again in the gold and diamond industries. After a short spell in the US, Enrique is now back in Argentina, where he is also involved in both media work and helping his son, Dorian, in his racing career which in 2019, included the Porsche Supercup Series.
