Born in Germany, then moved to Sweden, before settling in Ontario. Still alive and living in Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Still bikes and rides around the island, but ill-health has slowed him down a little recently. He is locally best known for his woodcarving. Wrote his autobiography in 2007.
