For a while, Tom drove occasionally in historic races. Founded a number of businesses, including an aviation firm, and a biscuit and cereal manufacturing and distribution company. This came about through links via his sponsor during his racing career who was a cereals and muesli manufacturer and salesman. Tom was bought out in 2005 and was happily retired. Lived on the Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire border in the United Kingdom, having lived in England since the early 1970's to help his racing career. Tom was a qualified mechanic and that's how he started in the sport. Sadly, Tom died after a long battle against stomach cancer just after midnight on the 12th January 2020.
