Often referred to as Liesaw, but his name was Leisaw. Billy was of French (paternal)and Irish (maternal) ancestry. He appeared at two Indianapolis 500's, driving a Buick in each of them, in 1912 and 1913. His career was not a long one, but he did also compete in an Anel, especially made for him by local Michigan car builder William Thompson. An automobile dealer for almost all his working life, he committed suicide.
