Former racer and constructor, who became a car manufacturer and also worked for Fulvio Ballabio's Monte Carlo Automobile concern. Also worked for Maserati and for Arturo Merzario's short lived F1 team, being responsible for chassis design. Bellasi started as a motorcyclist in the 1950's, before becoming a driver on 4 wheels, reaching Formula 3 level, before constructing a Formula 3 car. Silvio Moser, a friend of Bellasi, then got in touch to create a Formula 1 team, but sadly, it was not a success. Italian born, the political situation led to the family moving to Lugano, but Bellasi's father died when Bellasi was just four years old. He remained close to racing in both Switzerland and Italy until his death.
