Raced in Brazil both before and after his CART foray, which was not a success. Little heard of lately, but lives in Sao Paulo and runs a few businesses. He is also a qualified pilot. Other than his CART efforts, Jose Giupponi was seen for two years in the Formula Super Vee USA Robert Bosch/Valvoline Championship; in 1985, he finished in 32nd place with 5 points, and in 1986, 35th place with 6 points. Jose Giupponi failed to qualify for both the Mid-Ohio and Laguna Seca CART events in 1988. France also raced in stock cars and Formula Ford.
