INDYCAR (2013)

Best known for his sportscar prowess, a discipline he joined straight after two years in German Formula 3, Luhr has been a longtime participant in ALMS, but also won the 2011 GT1 World title. An Indycar one-off in 2013 provided a change of scenery, however. In 2016, he was in the US Sportscar Series, but switched to the VLN Series in 2017. In 2020, he raced in the ADAC GT Masters series for a third year but that was his last year racing. Lucas was a former Porsche and Audi factory driver and with the former, he won the 1999 German Porsche Carrera Cup Championship. In 2020, he established his own race car preparation and track day event business, Lilac Motorsport, which also has driver coaching amongst other facilities, based in Kreuzlingen, near Lake Constance and this takes up most of his time now.
