Spent a while in the United States, and during that time, won the 2004 Formula BMW USA series, and then went on to have a brief spell in Champ Car. Spent time after that in a variety of events, and then worked as a driver coach and test driver, but more recently is back in Europe and GT racing and is then was a long time competitor in the ADAC GT Masters series. More recently, Andreas has also been racing in the US Sportscar Series in selected events and in 2019, even took up rallying. When in Europe, Wirth is now based near the Hockenheim circuit. In 2021 he competed in the ADAC GT4 German series and has also been involved in electric endurance racing in more recent years.
