A car builder, he worked with Joe Cooper until Cooper's death, living in Sebring, Ohio. He also had two successful patents to his name - one for an internal combustion engine and one for an intake fuel system. Haibe was a stalwart of the racing scene for over a decade; he started as a riding mechanic in 1915 for Bob Burman, before joining up with Art Klein. Ora then raced himself, racing mainly on board ovals. During his time in racing and AAA events, his best finish was fourth, which he achieved twice. Once was early on in his career at Phoenix and the second was at Uniontown, and their board oval, in 1917.
