Maracay

Nationality:

Venezuela

Grands Prix:

95 (2011-2015)

Spectacular, if somewhat accident-prone F1 driver, who left Williams at the end of 2013, to join Lotus. After five entertaining years, Pastor lost his seat shortly before the 2016 season and after a brief hiatus, joined Pirelli as the company's main motorsport and F1 tyre tester. Won a surprise, but very welcome victory at the Spanish GP for the Williams team in 2012, but this has proved the highlight of his F1 career so far. Also won the GP2 series title. Finally returned to racing in 2018, earning a drive in the World Endurance Championship and in 2019, he dovetailed this with a drive in the US Sportscar Series, taking a class win at Daytona in 2019. He has recently been doing some historic racing, but by and large no longer races as he is involved with the family business, concentrating on finance and investments.
