A great off-road driver in his own right, he is also brother of Rick and father of Casey, who raced in the IRL and is now in NASCAR. Casey's career progress was largely due to Roger, who launched and managed an Indy Pro team, running Casey, for some years. Roger then joined Ganassi and was on hand to advise Casey of a switch to NASCAR in 2003, with the Ganassi team. He then worked for the NASCAR branch of the team in a dual management/consultant role and when Casey joined Hendrick Motorsports, so did Roger. He now likes to restore historic cars, likes motorcycling and has a holiday home in Mexico.
