3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985

These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.

All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen at allen@oldracingcars.com if you can help with our research.

Phil Hill was driving a camera car again, but as this was a McLaren M3A it was no more a part of the race than a pace car so is excluded here. This car, with camera platforms in front of the nose and above the left-hand rear wheel, wore #28 during practice. The Chamaco Collect BRM P261 was entered and practiced as #8, but was repainted and renumbered #24 for the race so that MGM could use it to take the place of Bruce McLaren's McLaren M2B, which was unable to start. Lotus and Eagle joined the list of marques to have produced cars for the 3-litre Formula 1.
