3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985

These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.

All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen at allen@oldracingcars.com if you can help with our research.

There were two entries from each of Tyrrell, Lotus, McLaren, March and Williams; three each from BRM, Ferrari, Surtees and Brabham; and one each from Matra and Tecno. The five privateers were the stockbroker March, Eifelland and Dave Charlton. The total was 27 again. The Connew was present but was not an accepted entry, but the third Ferrari made up for it. The only spare cars were Tyrrell 004, Fittipaldi's Lotus 72, Beltoise' BRM P160, Amon's Matra MS120C which remained in the paddock, and Peterson's spare March which remained in the truck. The McLaren M19A crashed in France had not yet been replaced. MN got all the BRM P160 chassis numbers wrong here but issued a correction in its Austrian GP report. Bruce McLaren Motor Racing was replaced by Team Yardley McLaren from this race as the entrant of the McLarens.
