3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985

These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.

All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen at allen@oldracingcars.com if you can help with our research.

There were two entries from Tyrrell, March, Lotus, McLaren, Brabham and Williams, three from Ferrari, four from BRM, three from Surtees and one from Matra. The privateers were Eifelland, plus three local drivers. The extra Surtees, extra Williams entry, the newcomer Eifelland and the three locals more than made up for one less BRM and brought the total entry to 27. Tyrrell brought a spare car, Tyrrell 004 now taking that role, and BRM had the second BRM P153 that had been used in Argentina, but it remained unused in South Africa.
