3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985

These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.

All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen at allen@oldracingcars.com if you can help with our research.

There were two entries from each of March and Williams, the only teams to stick to two entries at this race; three each from Tyrrell, Ferrari, Lotus, McLaren and Brabham; four from each of BRM and Surtees; and one each from Matra and Tecno. The privateers were the stockbroker March and Gene Mason, bringing the total to 31. Jody Scheckter's inclusion in the McLaren team made him the youngest driver at 22, taking that title from Niki Lauda. Mike Pilbeam had arrived to take over as BRM designer. A couple of weeks later Ralph Bellamy resigned from Brabham to move to Lotus. He was replaced at Brabham by 26-year-old Gordon Murray.
