3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985

These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.

20 cars arrived, for 19 entries. F1 was now settling into a two-car standard, with Lotus, Tyrrell, Brabham, McLaren, Ferrari, Surtees and Williams all entering two cars. There was only one official works March, the ex-Lauda car for Jarier with repositioned oil tank, and the unmodified Stockbroker March continued to be run by Space Racing. BRM were the only team with three entries. The only spare car was Tyrrell 003, which remained untouched. Four new cars were present, the two Surtees TS14As which had modified rear suspension with twin bottom "unparallel" links replacing the wishbone, a second Williams to much the same pattern as the former Politoys but called an Iso-Marlboro instead of a Politoys, and a new Lotus 72D as Lotus intended to have four cars at all races this season.
