Qualifying
Qualifying information not available

Notes on the cars:

  1. March 733 (Francesco Cerulli-Irelli): After driving sports cars earlier in the season, Francesco Cerulli-Irelli raced a Formula 3 March 733 in the Cesana-Sestriere International hillclimb in July 1973. He then raced a Trivellato Racing Team 733 in two Italian F3 races in August and September, and then a Scuderia Nettuno 733 in the final race at Vallelunga. It is assumed he drove the same car at each event.
  2. March 733 (Carlo Giorgio): Carlo Giorgio raced a March 733 in the 1973 Italian F3 series, entered by Scuderia Jolly Club in the first three races, and then by Trivellato Racing Team up to the end of the season.
  3. GRD 372 [023-F3] (Fernando Spreafico): New to Fernando Spreafico and entered for him by Scuderia Italia in Italian F3 races in 1972, usually using Wainer Alfa Romeo engines. Retained by Spreafico for 1973, again in Italian F3 and entered by Scuderia Italia, but now with Novamotor Ford engines. Retained again for 1974, when it was described as a 373, used 2-litre Alfa Romeo engines and was entered by Scuderia Concordia. Retained again for 1975 and for 1976, after which it was replaced with a Chevron B34. The subsequent history of the GRD is unknown.
  4. GRD 372 [017-F3] (Hans-Peter Hoffmann): New to Hans-Peter Hoffmann (Burgdorf, Switzerland) and raced in Swiss, German and French F3 races in 1972. Retained for 1973, when he raced it in F3 events in Germany, Britain, Italy and France. Subsequent history unknown.
  5. Brabham BT38C [22] (Roberto Manzoni): New to Vittorio Brambilla and raced in Italian F3 in 1972 using Novamotor engines. To Alberto Colombo in early August 1972, and run for him by Scuderia del Lario for the rest of the Italian season. Presumably the Scuderia del Lario entry for Roberto Manzoni in 1973.
  6. Brabham BT28/35 (Carlo Franchi ("Gimax")): Carlo Franchi, who raced as "Gimax", had a Brabham BT28 for Italian F3 in 1972 as a Jolly Club Milano entry. The car was updated to BT35 specification for Gimax in 1973, when it was entered by Scuderia Jolly Club at some raced and by Scuderia Italia at others. Subsequent history unknown.
  7. March 733 (Paolo Bozzetto): Paolo Bozzetto raced a March 733 in the 1973 Italian F3 series, starting from Casale at the end of April and running up to the end of the season. He was entered by Trivellato Racing Team.
  8. Brabham BT28 (Giauco Maselli): Alessandro Pesenti-Rossi raced a Brabham BT28 in Italian F3 in 1971. It went to Scuderia de Passatore for 1972, fitted with a Wainer Alfa Romeo engine and driven by Massimo Ciccozzi in the early part of the season. Ciccozzi progressed to a Branca, and the BT28 was taken over by Angelo Ancherani later in 1972. Then to Giauco Maselli for 1973. Reportedly retained for 1974 and 1975, and presumably the BT28 raced by "Claudio" Maselli in 1975. Subsequent history unknown, but this car was advertised by Paolo Ricciuti (Pescara) in March 2021, still with Clauco Maselli's name on the side of the bodywork. The frame number of the car suggests a chassis number somewhere in the range BT28-5 to BT28-20.
  9. March 733 (Bruno Pescia): Bruno Pescia drove a March 733 in the 1973 Italian Formula 3 season, entered (at least from June onwards) by Trivellato Racing Team. Nothing more known.
  10. March 723 (Bruno Eggel): Bruno Eggel ran a March in Formula 3 from 1973 onwards, having previously raced a Tecno in the 1000cc class of German and Swiss hillclimbs. In 1973 and 1974, he ran a car that looked like a 723, and he entered it at Mainz-Finthen in September 1974 as being chassis "72-5", indicating it was one of the cars number for the Eifelland team in 1972. In 1975, photographs show that Eggel had a 1973 or 1974 car, most likely a 743, which had a side-radiator conversion and blanked-off nose. His car was described as a 713M, 723, 733, 743, 753 and 763 between 1973 and 1978, and exactly how many separate cars he had is unknown.
