Of American and Danish citizenship, Benjamin has moved up the US racing tanks via Formula 4 USA, Formula 3 Americas (finishing third in 2018, second in 2019) as well as Indy Lights, but he also raced in the British Formula 3 and Euroformula Open championships. He moves up to Indycar in 2023. His father, Christian, was involved in Formula 1 as a manager and sponsorship consultant. Benjamin was racing motorcross aged only four.
