After a spell in GP2, Artam was in Formula Renault 2000 and Turkish rallies, but now retired, bar the odd historic event, normally in tandem with his father Cengiz. Artam now is a race horse owner, who runs syndicates both in Turkey and Worldwide. Can owns over 25 horses and is doing well in his new form of horsepower. Artam definitely benefited from an upsurge of financial interest in the sport in his native land through the introduction of the Turkish Grand Prix, but mandatory military service conversely hindered his career at one point.
