Killed in a qualifying crash at Winchester speedway. Midget legend who won numerous races and titles between 1948 and 1950. However Green started racing on two wheels, beginning with racing motorcycles in 1939. After World War Two, Green took up midget cars from 1948. In his short racing career Green was extremely impressive in every discipline he appeared in and took 4th in the 1950 Indianapolis 500 and 2nd at the Rex Mays 100 at Milwaukee in 1951.
