Died of a heart-attack which occured as a result of a car crash in the Canary Islands. He moved there to escape tax and financial problems in Britain but is best known for forming the Ecurie Ecosse team, one of the most iconic teams in racing history. Ecurie Ecosse's greatest moments were surely winning Le Mans in 1956 and 1957. Murray was a reasonable driver himself, who was strongest in speed trials, but because he was focused on his team, retired from racing in 1952, the year he formed the equipe.
