Only the second black driver to race in the Indy 500, but then struggled to get a drive. Now runs a karting team and school, where he is the owner and chief instructor and sells karting supplies. Mack's younger brother, Lloyd, also raced in Indy Pro and in short-track racing. Mack's best finish in the Indy Racing League was 13th and he couldn't find another drive from 2003 onwards in single-seaters. Mack didn't have much experience before 2002, but he did win more than 200 go-kart races in his native California between 1986 and 1998 and worked as a test driver for U.S. Formula 2000, Star Mazda and NASCAR late-model teams.
