Son of a transporter scion, Peter was involved in that business as well. Peter was also involved with the French distributor for Aston Martin as he was resident in France for some years.Collins was a fast, varied and extremely honourable driver, who in all likelihood, would've ended up as a World Champion, had he not been killed in the German GP, just weeks after winning the British Grand Prix. A very keen yachtsman, Collins started his career as a 17 year old in 1949, impressing in the Formula 3 races he appeared at before progressing upwards rapidly.
