In 2011, he drove part-time in the IRL after a long while in the US and, in particular, single-seater feeder series. Bar a 2012 Indy 500 one-off, his career has petered out somewhat and so he now develops safety products for children, but still stays close to the racing fratenity and now lives in Indianapolis., where in his spare time, spends a lot of time caring for or supporting animals or animal rescue homes. Cunningham is also involved in sports business and product development.
