Champ Car Atlantic champion in 2006, who was in the Champ Car World Series in 2007. When Champ Car disappeared, Pagenaud was in an array of endurance championships, including ALMS. However he also appeared in the IRL in a few races in 2011 and then followed this up with a more regular drive in 2012. Won a well deserved Indycar title in 2016. He won the Indianapolis 500 in 2019 and Daytona 24 Hours in 2022 and 2023. Whilst at his peak, in 2023, he was badly injured in a big-crash at Mid-Ohio, when a brake component failure pitched him into a number of barrel-rolls, causing head injuries. He is not fit enough to return to full time racing but now works for Chevrolet's Indycar programme as a simulation development driver. He also works as a coach and spotter to Scott McLaughlin.
