F3000 Champion in 2002, he went Stateside and impressed hugely in CART with the Newman-Haas team, winning the title four years in a row between 2004 and 2007. His dream was to race in Formula 1, but it turned into a nightmare, with it lasting just a season-and-a-half. After spells in Formula Superleague and endurance, he went back in the US and Indycars once again, and continued in this series full-time until 2019, when he lost his seat despite being one of the best drivers in the series. In 2022, Sebastien concentrated more on the IMSA series in which he has been racing for over four years and now single-seaters is only a part-time pursuit with selected races in Indycar. He continues this in 2024.
