Since F1, Stephane was a Toyota F1 test driver and a Dallara Nissan racer, but then went into rally driving and the World Rally Championship. Dropped for 2007, he moved to endurance racing and finished 2nd at the 2007 Le Mans, but also then returned to rallying in 2010. Now mainly in sportscars, and the World Endurance Championship, but is still rallying and appears (and even wins) in the European Rally Championship. In 2017, he also set up his own motorsport team which competes in rallying, and this is his main focus. In 2019, he competed in the GRC European Rallycross series. In 2021, he competed in the Extreme E series and remains involved with Nissan as a test driver for their electric race cars, but is no longer racing himself.
