Carved a niche for himself in sportscars, but also as a competitive star of the South African touring car series, winning the title three years on the trot, from 1998-2000. After a brief break from the sport, he returned with his own team. Then became race director of his Global Touring Car series which became the main touring car series in South Africa. His main role is as director and guide of Grand Turismo Africa which offers tours in and around the coastlines and mountain ranges of Cape Town. He still occasionally races, mostly in hillclimbs, and also has a sideline as a TV presenter. In 2012, he raced in Australia and New Zealand as well as his homeland.
