One of Australia's top touring car drivers of recent years, with five wins at Bathurst and a three time V8 Supercar champion. Lowndes remained in the category until the end of 2018. From 2019, he races in endurance events part-time but his main role is now in television broadcasting. Craig has also been involved in a wildlife conservation project on his farm and in road safety education programs, which led to him, in 2012, being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his charitable work. Lowndes currently lives in Queensland.
