Tried to make a career for himself in the US, as he raced in the Champ Car World Series in 2004 and 2005 and then in Champ Car Atlantic, but is now back living in Brazil. There he is head of Sperafico Amazonia, which is an agricultural business with links to transports, farms and factories. He is also a PR spokesperson for a Brazilian juice drink. Only races for fun now. As a racer, he started in karts in 1988, but really progressed after coming third in the South American Formula B Championship in 1998. This helped him move to America one year later via the Barber Dodge Pro series and he remained there until 2006.
