Now retired after a spell in sportscars. He now works as a engineer and managing director in his father's engineering firm, AMG Engineering. Werner was a race winner in the FIA Sportscar Championship, British Formula 2 and Italian Formula 3000 who also finished runner-up in his native Formula Ford and Formula Gti Series before moving to Europe in 1995. His International Formula 3000 spell had some highs - fourth at Jerez in 1997 - and some lows, before leaving single-seaters in 2000. Lupberger then raced in the American Le Mans Series and Grand-Am before retiring in 2004.
