Moved to CART, but it did not work out for the hugely likeable French citizen, who has lived in England since he moved to race in British Formula 3 in the late 1990's. Has since his CART days raced in sportscars, Formula Nissan and ASCAR (the latter of which he won the title in 2002), and for one race in 2003 in Formula 3000. Became a long-time driver of endurance racing, including the Le Mans Series, US Sportscar Series and latterly the World Endurance Championship, but is also a regular in historic racing. Minassian was close to a Minardi Formula 1 drive in 2001 but never ultimately made it to Grand Prix racing. In 2017, Nic became the sporting director and business development manager for the Dragonspeed Racing endurance team, as well as becoming their reserve and test driver and then in 2018, joined the Ile de France sportscar team as their racing director. Now team manager of IDEC Motorsport. Nic did an interview in 2015 for this website which can be found below.
