Went to the USA with spells in the IRL and CART but is now back in his homeland. He races in kart events as he runs a kart products shop and school and also works as a coach and driver manager for young karters. The 2000 Formula Nippon Champion and 2005 Japanese GT champion, Toranosuke struggled during his Formula 1 spell due to his lack of English at the time, but also his quite shy, introvert nature. Tora is the son of a former Japanese touring car driver. Toransuke carried on full-time racing until 2008 in both Japanese Super GT and Formula Nippon. He now also acts as a racing director for a Super GT team TGR Waiko's Rookie.
